Our Le Bella Donna bride for today is Deja. Deja got married to her husband Jason at a destination wedding in Jamaica in an amazing Essence of Australia gown.
Deja’s younger sister and Jason’s younger brother introduced them at a graduation party in 2010. Destiny brought them together again the very next day, when they saw each other at Musikfest. A TV reporter at the event wanted to interview them and their friends told the reporter that they were engaged, though Deja and Jason did not actually know each other very well yet. They spent the rest of that day getting to know each other and, as Deja says, “the rest is history.”
In May of 2016, Deja had won a raffle for a day of pampering with a friend, coincidentally on the same day as Jason’s end of semester party for the Villanova School of Business. Jason picked her up to take her to the cocktail party and stopped multiple times along the way to take photos. When they arrived the song “Marry Me” by Train began to play and photographer appeared. Jason proposed and then they had an engagement photoshoot on the Villanova campus. It turns out that Jason had planned the entire thing, including the day of pampering. He had also gathered family and friends for a party where he showed a video he created that showed many highlights throughout the years of their loving relationship.
When Deja arrived at Le Bella Donna, she had an image in her mind of exactly the dress she wanted to wear on her wedding day. She wanted to try on a Martina Liana dress that she had seen online, but when she finally had on the dress, she realized that it wasn’t for her. Though Deja was disappointed, the Essence of Australia gown she had tried on in her appointment stuck in her mind. With the help of her consultants, Deja decided that this was her perfect dress!
Though Deja came into our shop with a particular style in mind, form fitting with an open back, she enjoyed trying on many other styles, as well. For her, the best part was adding the veil. That was when the look came together and everyone had that “yes” moment!
Deja’s advice to other brides is to relax and to do what makes you happy on your special day! She focused on her own vision for the wedding before asking for opinions from her mother and bridesmaids. Deja also advises brides that it is important not to stress over everything and to remain calm during the planning process.
Deja and Jason were married in May at the Royalton Blue Waters Resort right outside of Montego Bay. Deja describes their wedding day as “absolutely perfect, from start to finish.” Two of her favorite memories are walking down the aisle and seeing her husband for the first time at the reception. She had a lot of fun jumping in the pool with her friends and family – while still in her dress!
Congratulations Deja and Jason! We wish you many years of love and happiness together!
