Today’s Le Bella Donna bride is Megan, who got married to her husband Mike this past June in a lace Madison James fit and flare gown.
Megan and Mike met in the fall of their senior year of high school through a mutual friend. They didn’t start dating right away, but fate caused them to run into each other at Disney World and they decided to go on their first date when they returned home.
Seven years later, Mike took Megan out to a romantic dinner at the Moshulu at Penn’s Landing. Mike suggested an after dinner walk to Plough and the Stars where they were meeting up with friends for a birthday gathering. Megan was not in the mood for a walk, but Mike tricked her by saying he wanted her to see an intersection he had designed for his job as a traffic engineer. In the middle of the walk, Mike got down on one knee and popped the question! Their sisters ran out of their hiding places and began taking pictures to document the wonderful moment. Then they walked together to the alleged birthday party, which turned out to be a surprise party for their engagement with 30 of their friends and family members.
Megan came into our shop nine months before her wedding looking for her perfect gown. She had already been to five other stores and was feeling a bit frustrated. The style she favored before trying on any dresses with us was A-line. However, Megan did not end up liking the style when she tried them on. Steph suggested that she try on a fit and flare gown, which was a style that Megan had not considered before. Once Megan tried on the gown, she knew it was the one for her! A lovely jewel belt to accentuate her waist added some sparkle and finesse to the already gorgeous gown. The look was completed with a matching lace cathedral veil.
On the day of their wedding, both Megan and Mike were very nervous because they weren’t used to being apart and unable to speak to each other for so long. When the time came to walk down the aisle, Megan’s nerves faded and she enjoyed every part of her special day! Her favorite part of the wedding was her dress. Megan felt comfortable all day: throughout the ceremony, photos, and reception.
Megan’s advice to other brides is “HAVE FUN!” She and Mike knew they wanted to have an engagement that was full of fun, love, and laugher. In Megan’s opinion, the best way to do this is to try not to stress too much during the wedding planning process. She also wants other brides to know that they should try on different styles of dresses, even if it isn’t the kind of dress they originally imagined themselves in. Sometimes you need to trust someone else’s suggestions because you may end up falling in love with a completely different style!
Congratulations Megan and Mike! We wish you many years of love and happiness together!
